This notice explains what happens when you give Safe AI in Law your email address for the monthly briefing.

Last updated 6 October 2026.

Who we are

Safe AI in Law is an informal initiative operating in the United Kingdom, led by Martin Radzaj. We determine how briefing addresses are used. For any privacy question, contact contact@safeai.law.

What we collect and why

The subscription form asks for an email address only. We email you once to confirm it, and we send briefings only after you confirm. We use your address to send one monthly briefing with links to recent developments, research, and regulatory information. We also keep a record of when you subscribed and confirmed.

Who can see it

Only the initiative’s owner can access and export the subscriber list. We use Buttondown, an email service provider, to store addresses and send the briefing. Buttondown acts on our behalf. It is based in the United States, so your address may be processed outside the United Kingdom. We do not sell addresses, share them with other organisations for their own mailing, or use them for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep an active address while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending to it and keep a minimal record that you unsubscribed, to avoid sending further briefings by mistake. You can ask us to erase that record too.

Your choices and rights

Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any briefing to stop future briefings. You may also contact us to ask for access to your information, a correction, or erasure. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies and analytics

We do not run visitor analytics, advertising trackers, or marketing cookies. If you use the light or dark switch in the page footer, your choice is saved in your browser on your own device. It is not sent to us.
